Our Hodge Podge Day

This morning started a little different. Matthew's alarm went off rather early, and then continued to go off each time he hit snooze. I could not fall back to sleep and gave up on my 0630 alarm about 25 minutes early to hop in the shower. Once I got out of the shower, I smelled COFFEE! YES! Just the smell makes my eyes open a bit more! Ani woke up at 0700.... pretty early for her. I knew Kelly was going to come over for a bit this morning, but Anika had no clue. It is so hard to not tell the kids about such things, but I regret telling them in advance EVERY time I have a huge lapse of judgement and think it'd be a great idea. So, the only "Where's Kelly?" that I heard over and over this morning was in my head..... yes!

Ki was a bit out of it and not sure what was going on this morning when Kelly arrived. Ani seemed excited. We hung out a bit here, then went to Target (for just the two things on my list, surely) and dropped Kelly off so she could head up to Phoenix in time for work. Bless her heart for squeezing us in and making a point to see us. The kids did ok with "goodbye", only because I had some Starburst Jelly Beans to hush them with in the car. When we got home, Ki started screaming for Kelly and crying. I assured him we'd see her again and he eventually calmed down.

I have been EXHAUSTED today, which is strange because last night was the best sleep I have had since last Sunday. Ki's nap could not have come quick enough. I put him down, and as I ran the vacuum, Anika washed her hands and headed to her "school room" to review and wait for "Teacher"! She calls me "teacher" during school time, and I love it! We started off with a game to find out how much she recalled from yesterday..... she remembered EVERYTHING! She could hear how excited I was for her as she would answer the questions and my voice would go up a pitch as I congratulated her. I had her repeat the information, just because the lesson says to, but the lesson went much quicker because she knew it ALL! The lesson was planned more for a child who was hearing something for the second time and beginning to understand it, but she KNOWS the information! For her readiness skills, she was instructed to color two birds, blue. This was difficult for her she REALLY wanted them to be purple. I explained to her the directions, and then the only problem she had was deciding which blue crayon to use. She did great, again, with only coloring what the directions said to color and nothing else. She chose a purple sticker to put on her paper after her job well done.

Oh, I can't forget to share.... Anika came running to me in fear, "MOMMY, MOMMY, Ki's being naughty. HE IS IN MY SISTER'S BED!!!!!". She was so upset. I went back and sure enough, Ki had climbed in to Alohi's crib. Before I could say anything, Anika said "Kiah, this is my sister's bed and we don't touch it..... and it's so dangerous.". I helped him get down and he apologized right away. Ani took him by the hand and said "Let's go play with some safe toys". I just love my kids!!!!

Photo explanations.... Ani is showing off her blue birds. Also, a couple things I LOVE; the bench at the back door where the kids can sit to take shoes on and off. They each have a drawer for a few pair of shoes, and they now have hooks for a sweatshirt and a hat each. They got new hats from Target today (yup, you guessed, NOT on the list). The other thing I REALLY love is my bottle/pacifier/baby spoon drying rack. (thank you, Ashleigh) It's the one "plant" in my house that I can not kill!!!! I love how the two pacifiers look like flowers in the grass.

Oooooh, Alohi! Girlfriend is KILLING me today! Contractions are hurting badly! I can not wait until my appointment on Friday, when we will find out if Alohi will be getting evicted on Monday (Lord, please let this be Your will). I can't wait to kiss her and see how heaven shines through her!
Favorite song of the day, and I FINALLY found out who sings this (this is what happens when you listen to the spark on the computer, you get to see each song and find out who sings it).

I'm hoping I get a chance, tomorrow, to listen to more of this music..... seems to be lots of Tal & Acacia on you tube. Off to help get the kids down, then lesson plan and possibly take a bubble bath.... oooooooooooooooh!
