62 Tornadoes Hit Our State Last Night

We're ok! The closest any of those twisters came to our home was about 2 miles. We went today to visit friends that live in that neighborhood: the same neighborhood we almost bought a home in! I tried my best, but could not keep from crying. We are beyond blessed that we are all safe, and so is our home. We sat in our master bedroom closet during the worst of the storm. I knew tornadoes were on the way. The dog was quiet, so was Matthew. Ki held a flashlight, and acted as though he was saving us while we were without power. Anika sang prayers, CONSTANTLY! I prayed, Matthew prayed. Alohi giggled. Adith didn't move. I think she reacted to the fear inside of me. Every ounce of me tried to remember verses of comfort, but I couldn't remember where they were to read to my children. So, we just stayed close in that closet and tried to sing along with Anika; singing prayers...... how interesting the way she sang her fear-filled prayers in such a soothing melody. She was very positive that God would protect us...... faith like a child! I'll be uploading pictures from a couple miles away in just a bit. I didn't get many, as I was fighting tears and it was hard to bring the camera up to my eyes. It also felt like I was intruding on the privacy of all those victims. Even though there were many photographers there, and news crews, and volunteers, and the red cross.... the loss just seemed too personal to photograph in most cases. Praying for the victims, and for my faith to grow!
