This is my husband. There are many like him, but this one is mine.
My husband is my best friend. He is my life. I must master(learn) him as I must master my life.
My husband, without me, is useless. Without my husband, I am useless. I must hold my husband true. I must want him more than my enemy, who is trying to kill my husband. I must shoot him, before he shoots my husband. I WILL...
My husband and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT...
My husband is human, even as I, because he is my life. Thus, I will learn him as a brother. I will learn his weaknesses, his strengths, his character, his gifts, his sights, and his barrel. I will ever guard him against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes, and my heart against damage. I will keep my husband clean and ready. We will become part of each other. WE WILL...
Before God, I swear this creed. My husband and myself are the defenders of our faith. Our God masters our enemy. HE IS THE SAVIOR OF OUR SOULS.
So be it, until victory is God's and there is no enemy, but peace!
Does any of this sound familiar? This is my version of the USMC rifle creed. I only had to change a few words to make this fit. I know it could come across as co-dependent, but it's not. Scripture is very clear about a woman's job, her service to God, so long as she has a husband. Yes, there are a couple funny parts, too..... I think our 4 children are evidence that I have learned his "barrel", ha!
The dedication and serious respect that Marines have for the Corps and every part of it gives me goosebumps. If only I had that same dedication in my job, as a wife and child of God! I guess I'm a little inspired lately, with my husband away on orders. I'm very proud of him. I keep his dog tag on while he's gone, even if he's not actually deployed. I think of him and pray for him often. He's doing an awesome job at academy. I miss him..... too much!

Lol, I don't think I've actually seen that movie. I think it's awesome that all Marines are riflemen. If only all wives had that same kind of dedication toward her husband, you know? I know there are millions of husbands out there who mess up like crazy, but I truly think this world would be very different if we, as wives, took our job that serious.... ya know?
Thank you. It means alot to me that you are willing to put so much effort into me, us... I love you.
